South Dakota barrel racer jumps 11 spots for win

South Dakota State's Rachel Tiedeman vaulted from 11th overall to national barrel racing champion.

Tiedeman stopped the clock in 14.15 seconds, giving her 57.44 on four runs this week.

Her 14.15 tied with Haley Nelson of South Plains College for the short go victory.

Final six barrel racers:

Shannon Jones, Cal Poly SLO, 14.77 seconds -- 58.30 seconds on four runs.

Jordan Muncy, Panhandle State, 14.22 -- 57.69.

Haley Nelson, South Plains, 14.15 -- 57.70.

Michelle Robinson, Gillette College, 14.37 -- 58.15.

Kortney Fisher, Walla Walla CC, 16.97 -- 60.79.

Sierra Thomas, Weber State, 19.67 (tipped second barrel) -- 62.71.
